Since Aki wasn't translating the last bit - she's just getting a "normal" one (see below).

Was briefly considering Aki going over the top and demanding like "8... million!", but Asuka already limited it from 1-10, so, dunno...

Originally, I had Asuka specifying that Shinji had wasabi before so that he should be able to handle it - but that would have been stereotyping the other way round, plus I never had it myself, so I can't really compare.

Concerning Currywurst, part 2:
Let me say it right away: This level 1-10 stuff is not the norm!

If you go to a random place serving Currywurst and order one with a number, chances are they'll just look at you funny (or you'll get either the according amount or whatever has that number on the menu in addition to you Currywurst). In most places, you'll probably just be able to get a "normal", not really all that spicy one; at most maybe one option to make it a little spicier (which then often just consists of an additional dose of curry powder on top of it).

This 1-10 thing was a bit of a (marketing) trend that came up a few years ago (I'd like to say, but actually thinking back, it's probably been about 10 already >_>) - with of course everyone having "the spiciest of all" and potentially the highest two or so on the ranking being so hot that you need to be 18+ and sign off that you're doing it on your own risk. I.e. cashing in on people willing to risk their health over dares of who can go the highest.
But to be honest, I have no idea how far spread this thing still is or ever was.

Personally, I only know one place who offered this and while I was there a couple of times when I still lived in the area, I only tried the "spicing it up" once (don't quite remember what, maybe a 2 or 3) and just got a normal one every time afterwards. First of all, I'm not that fond of actually spicy stuff to begin with, but I really didn't like how whatever they added to make it spicier changed the taste of the sauce (plus, it was like 20 cent more expensive, so easy choice for scroogy old me).

So essentially I kinda went against showing a "typical" German thing here after all, just as setup for an obvious joke, but I guess I just can't help it. :P
