Well, it probably wouldn't really be so much against any dress code actually. After all, as I said in the description for the pic that (partially) inspired this, the outfit was indeed inspired by a kid in similar one. But let's just go with it, shall we...? :P
Hikari's swooning was originally also supposed to be a bit more over the top, but it never really looked quite right.
